Reverse: Within a wreath formed of two reed stalks: 5 / CENTÉSIMOS / (mint) with ESSAI at the top.

Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen!
NGC MS 63 (8772189-002).
Trial piece, 3.1 mm thick, struck on a brass blank (70% copper and 30% zinc). The fields have darkened due to fingerprints. Superb in Proof condition.
