Description
YUGOSLAVIA Alexander I (1921–1934). 50 para trial piéfort, by A. Patey, 1925, ‘éclair’, Poissy. Obverse: АЛЕКСАНДАР I. КРАЉ СРБА, ХРВАТА И СЛОВЕНАЦА. Bareheaded head facing left; below, the signature A. PATEY. Reverse. Within a wreath formed of a laurel branch and an oak branch, beneath a crown: 50 ΠΑPA (date) and below (mint) and at the top ESSAI. KM.-; Brass – 5.23 g - 17.9 mm - 6 o’clock NGC MS 62 (8772189-004). 2.5 mm thick proof-weight on a brass blank (70 per cent copper and 30 per cent zinc). With ‘ESSAI’ at the top of the reverse and a fluted edge. Coin strike. With a developing patina and traces of the original yellow colour. Almost proof.
