EGYPT Fouad I (1917–1936). Medal, The City of Alexandria, by S. E. Vernier and G. Devreese [1924], Paris. Obverse: Inscription in Arabic script. Bust facing right in uniform, signed S. E. VERNIER 1924. Reverse. Within a fretwork border formed by a Greek fret, a shield surmounted by a turreted crown, inscribed ‘VILLE D’ALEXANDRIE’ with a band below; signed G. DEVREESE. Bronze – 147.8 g – 72 mm – 12 h Hallmark (horn) BRONZE. Matt finish. Almost proof condition.
