EGYPT Fouad I (1917–1936). Medal, Official visit of King Fouad I to France, 20–22 October 1927, by H.E. Vernier and Falize 1927, Paris. Obverse: Legend in Arabic script. Bust facing right in uniform; signed ‘H.E. VERNIER 1924’. Reverse: Landscape featuring the Arc de Triomphe with rays of light, the Luxor Obelisk in the foreground; signed ‘FALIZE’. In the exergue: OFFICIAL VISIT OF HIS MAJESTY FUAD I, KING OF EGYPT, TO FRANCE – 20–22 OCTOBER MCMXXVII. Vermeil – 164.4 g – 72 mm – 12 h In vermeil with hallmarks (horn) 2 SILVER. Markings on the bezel on the obverse at 12, 5 and 10 o’clock and on the reverse at 3, 6 and 11 o’clock. Very rare in gold-plated silver. Superb.
