Beautifully struck, well-centred, with a lovely patina typical of an old collection. Superb.
Carloman II was King of the Franks from 879 to 884. He was the son of Louis II the Stammerer and Ansgarde of Burgundy. He reigned alongside his brother Louis III until the latter’s death in 882 and died in 884, aged just 17.
