Charles VI (1380–1422). Gold shield with a crown, 4th issue of the Notre-Dame series (1394–1411), Saint-Lô.
Obv. + KAROLVSx DEIx GRACIAx FRANCORVMx REX. Crowned Shield of France.
Rev. + XPC* VINCIT* XPC* REGNAT* XPC* IMPERAT. Fleur-de-lis cross with leaves, with a star within a curvilinear heart-shaped lozenge, all within a quatrefoil flanked by four small crowns.
Dy.369C - Fr.291; Gold - 3.92 g - 29 mm - 8 h
This is the third-highest grade (16); only 3 specimens graded 65+ and 4 graded 66 are higher (across all mints!) at NGC!
NGC MS 65 (6639746-035).
Featuring 19th-century marks for Saint-Lô. A minute black mark on the reverse. With a golden patina. Superb in mint condition.
