Charles VI (1380–1422). Gold shield with a crown, 5th issue of the ND series (1411–1418), Saint-Lô.
Obverse: + KAROLVSx DEIx GRACIAx FRANCORVx REX. Crowned Shield of France.
Reverse: + XPC* VINCIT* XPC* REGNAT* XPC* IMPERAT. Fleur-de-lis cross with leaves, with a star within a curvilinear heart-shaped lozenge, all within a quatrefoil flanked by four small crowns.
Dy.369D - Fr.291; Gold – 3.72 g – 28.5 mm – 11 h
This is the third-highest grade (16); only 3 specimens graded 65+ and 4 graded 66 are higher (across all mints!) at NGC!
