Description
FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Charles VI (1380–1422). Gold shield with a crown, 5th issue of Notre-Dame (1411–1418), Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Obverse: + KAROLVSx DEIx GRACIAx FRANCORVMx REX. Crowned Shield of France. Reverse: + XPC* VINCIT* XPC* REGNAT* XPC* IMPERAT. Fleur-de-lis cross with leaves, with a star within a curvilinear heart-shaped lozenge, all within a quatrefoil flanked by four small crowns. Dy.369D - Fr.291; Gold - 3.74 g - 29 mm - 5 h NGC MS 62 (6642217-002). With 20 small rings on the obverse and reverse. Wide flan, with a golden patina. Superb in Proof condition.
