FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Charles VI (1380–1422). Gold Agnel, 1st issue, undated (1417), Angers. Obverse: + AGN: DEI: QVI: TOLL: PECAT: MVDI: MIS: NOBIS. Paschal lamb on the left, one of its forelegs raised, head turned to the right, in front of a trefoil cross with a banner which cuts across the exergue legend, within a beaded polylobed field interrupted at the bottom; in the exergue: KF – RX. Reverse + XPC* VINCIT* XPC* REGNAT* XPC* IMPERAT. A trefoil cross with leaves, featuring a rosette at the centre, flanked by four lilies, all within an angled quadrilobe flanked by eight small lilies. Dy.372 - Fr.290; Gold - 2.52 g - 23 mm - 2 h Top Pop: this is the finest graded specimen! PCGS MS62 (55952493). With a 7th ring on the reverse. The strike is slightly flattened with some weakness in the relief. Slight traces of circulation. Light golden patina. Superb.
