Charles VI (1380–1422). Gold ‘Salut’ coin of Our Lady (1421), Paris.
Obverse: + KAROLVS: DEI: GRACIA: FRAHCORVM: REX. The Archangel Gabriel standing on the right, before the Virgin Mary to whom he holds out a scroll bearing the word AVE; between them, the crowned coat of arms of France; above, the rays of the sun emerging from a cloud.
Reverse: + XPC’* VIHCIT* XPC’* REGHAT* XPC’* IHPERAT. A Latin cross with fleur-de-lis motifs flanked by two lilies, beneath which is a K, within a multi-lobed fleur-de-lis motif.

The obverse die is different but similar to BnF 415, whilst the reverse die differs from the examples reproduced. An example with the same dies can be found in the collection of Abbé Jacques Thilliez, Burgan auction, 12 November 2021, lot 51.
NGC UNC DETAILS REV CLEANED (8769659-003).
With 18th-century dots on both the obverse and reverse. The punctuation consists of two superimposed cross-shaped marks on the obverse and stars on the reverse. The ‘0’s’ are elongated and the ‘N’s’ take the form of an inverted ‘H’ or ‘N’. This specimen is close to its mint condition, having seen virtually no circulation and being covered in a delicate golden patina. Superb in Proof condition.
