Obverse (cross with a bar) KAROLVS: FRANCORV: REX. Shield of France, with a solid dot between the two upper fleurs-de-lis.
Reverse (cross with a bar) SIT: NOME: DNI: BENEDICTV. Cross flanked by two small crowns and two fleurs-de-lis; solid dot beneath the lower arm.

From the P. Prieur collection, with a round label bearing a pen motif.
The ring mark is No. 17 on both the obverse and reverse, indicating the Saint-Quentin mint, and the use of the trident-shaped ‘T’ marks typical of this mint. One of the crowns on the reverse is poorly struck. An extremely rare issue featuring the initial ‘T’ with a crossbar. Beautiful old patina. Very Good to Superb.
