Obverse (cross with a bar): KAROLVS: FRANCORV: REX. Shield of France, with a solid dot between the two upper fleurs-de-lis.
Reverse (cross with a bar): SIT: NOME: DNI: BENEDICTV. Cross flanked by two small crowns and two fleurs-de-lis; solid dot beneath the lower arm.

With a terminal loop after the 19th letter on the reverse: mint of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. A very rare issue. In lovely fresh condition, with a slight grey patina. Superb.
