FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Charles VI (1380–1422). Blanc dit Guénar, 6th issue, special issue featuring a ‘T’ within the shield of Our Lady (1417), T, Toulouse. Obv. (cross with bar) KAROLVS[: FRANCOR]V: REX. Shield of France, with the letter T between the two upper fleurs-de-lis. Rev. (cross with bar) SIT: NOME: DNI: BENE[DICT]V. Cross flanked by two small crowns and two fleurs-de-lis. Dy.377F – L.432a; Billon – 2.26 g – 26.5 mm – 2 h With the letter ‘T’ in the shield, and fifth-size annulets on both the obverse and reverse, for Toulouse: this special issue is noted in Duplessy. With an undetermined first-size dot on the obverse (issue mark?). Off-centre strike. With a dark patina. Extremely rare. TTB. This type is described in the *Revue Numismatique* 1909, PV XIII, and subsequently featured in Dieudonné’s study on the ‘blanc guénar’ in *Courrier Numismatique* 7, p. 17 (engraving). This type has probably not been seen since!
