Charles VII (1422–1461). Gold royal, 2nd issue, ‘ND’ (1431), O, Orléans.
Obverse: + KAROLVS: DEI: GR - A - FRANCORV: RE (mint mark). The King standing facing the viewer, crowned, wearing a robe and a fleur-de-lis-patterned cloak, holding two sceptres, on a field of fleurs-de-lis.
Reverse: + XPC: VINCIT: XPC: REGNAT: XPC: IHPERA (mint mark). A trefoil cross with leaves and a quatrefoil in the centre, within a fleur-de-lis quatrefoil flanked by small crowns.

NGC MS 65 (4625126-009).
With an ‘O’ on a small ring indicating the Orléans mint. A besant is visible beneath the first letter on both the obverse and reverse: we attribute this specimen to the second issue from April to September 1431. In mint condition, with a very fine depiction of the King and a golden patina. Proof-like.
