FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Henry II (1547–1559). Double piéfort of the half-teston with crescent, 1552, A, Paris. Obverse: HENRICVS II D G FRANCOR REX. Laureate, draped and armoured bust facing right. Reverse: + DVM TOTVM COMPLEAT ORBEM (date). Crescent moon beneath a closed crown; below, (mint mark). C.1298 - L/P.824a - Marchéville cf. 2661; Silver - 9.27 g - 25 mm - 12 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! NGC VF 30 (8772189-024). Medal strike. Double piéfort weighing the same as the teston. Our specimen is very similar to the one in the Marchéville collection (though the weight differs). Attractive grey patina. Very rare. Very Fine to Superb. It should be noted that whilst the piéfort is dated 1552, all specimens of the demi-teston are undated
