Obverse (at 6 o’clock) CAR. IX. D. – G. FR. R (date). The Dauphin with a crown surmounted by a fleur-de-lis on the left; mint mark in the exergue.
Reverse + SIT. [NOM. DNI. B]NI: (distinguishing mark). Fleur-de-lis cross.

On a quadrangular blank, the strike is offset on the reverse. The mint mark is faint, but the master’s mark and the date are clearly visible. Fewer than 10 examples known. Very good condition.
