FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Henry III (1574–1589). Teston, 3rd type with frilled collar, 1576, G, Poitiers. Obv. HENRICVS. III. D. G. FRA. ET. POL. REX. Bust of the King facing right, laureate, draped and clad in ancient-style armour, wearing a ruff. Rev. + SIT. NOMEN. DNI. - .BENEDICT. (date) (variant). Crowned shield of France between two crowned H’s, (mint mark) in the exergue. Dy.1126B - Sb.4654 - G.492; Silver - 9.38 g - 30 mm - 9 h PCGS Genuine Cleaned-AU Detail (56278513). With a slight grey patina over the original lustre, this specimen has seen very little circulation. Slight hairline scratches on the edges. Superb.
