From the Bastien Mikolajczak collection.
Featuring two different, previously unpublished variants: a five-pointed star and an inverted dotted ‘C’: likely struck at the Mondragon workshop (between Pont-Saint-Esprit and Orange) for the master coiners Allemand de Choisellas and Jean Belon, who were partners in 1592–1593. The strike is off-centre and somewhat faint, but our specimen has seen little circulation and remains of very fine quality. Uncirculated. Very Fine.
