FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Henry IV (1589–1610). Liard bearing a crowned ‘H’ flanked by three lilies, and a fleur-de-lis cross with a cloverleaf design, 1591, N, Montpellier. Obverse (at 12 o’clock) HENR. IIII. D. G. F. E. N. RE (date) (variant). Crowned ‘H’ between three lilies. Reverse (at 6 o’clock) SIT. N. D. M. N. BENEDICTVM. Fleur-de-lis cross. Dy.1267 bis – G.546 (R5) – Sb.4432; Billon – 1.16 g – 17 mm – 6 o’clock From the Bastien Mikolajczak collection. Bearing the ‘P’ mark of master Pons in Montpellier. A very rare type, published in 1997 in the BSFN. Clearly identifiable. Very fine.
