Louis XIII (1610–1643). Half-franc, 13th type (year of issue on the obverse) 1639, &, Aix-en-Provence.
Obv. LVDOVIC. XIII. Rev. G. FRAN. ET. NAVA. REX (date). Large juvenile bust of the King facing right, wearing a laurel wreath, draped and clad in armour with a turned-down collar; in the exergue (mint mark).
Reverse (at 12 o’clock) + SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. BENEDICTVM. (varying). A cross with floral and fleur-de-lis motifs, with an ‘L’ at its centre.
