FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Louis XIII (1610–1643). Modern restrike of the 10-louis d’or, #343 [1640] (c.1972), Monnaie de Paris for NI (Numismatique Internationale). Obv. LVD. XIII. D. G. – FR. ET. NAV. REX. Laureate and draped bust of the King facing right, with the date below; hallmarks 1 (horn) and rosette (Monnaie de Paris). Rev. CHRISTVS. REGNAT. VINCIT. ET. IMPERAT. A cross formed of eight L’s, each arm crowned, with an A within a heart-shaped circle, flanked by four lilies radiating from the centre; in the exergue (number). Dy.cf. 1294; Gold – 39.9 g – 41 mm - 6 o’clock With a certificate of authenticity (annotated: purchased Sept. 1975) and its original gold-coloured imitation leather case. NGC MS 63 (8772184-003). Numbered #343. A late 20th-century reissue by the Monnaie de Paris of the famous 10-louis d’or of Louis XIII, with a fineness of 920/1000 (horn hallmark 1 on the obverse). Minimal hairline marks in the fields. Almost Mint State.
