Rev. (different) SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. BENEDICTVM. (date). Crowned shield of France; below (mint mark).

NGC VF DETAILS TOOLED (6645994-003).
Rare first issue, with the large lock of hair on the obverse and a rose on the reverse, struck in December 1641. A fine, even strike. Wear is even with a grey patina, a few scratches on the obverse and needle-scratched beneath the bust. TTB.
