FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Louis XIII (1610–1643). Douzain 1628, MA, Montauban. Obverse (at 6 o’clock) LVDOVICVS. XIII. D: G. FRAN. ET NAVA R. Crowned coat of arms of France flanked by two L’s; (mint mark) in the exergue. Reverse (at 12 o’clock) SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. BENEDIC. (date). Notched cross flanked by four small crowns. Dy.1342 - G.19 (Unlisted); Billon - 2.22 g - 25.5 mm - 12 o’clock From the Bastien Mikolajczak collection. Bearing the monogram MA for the Montauban mint. Made from a wide blank, with a somewhat faint strike. Very good condition.
