Childlike bust of the King facing right, laureated, draped and clad in an ancient-style cuirass, wearing the Order of the Holy Spirit, with a long lock of hair falling over the cuirass. Rev. (variant) SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. – BENEDICTVM (variant) (date). Crowned Shield of France, with (mint mark) below. Dy.1470 - G.169; Silver - 13.64 g - 31.5 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS AU58 (56278517). With the ‘différent’ markings repeated on both the obverse and reverse. Of very fine quality for this first issue from Saint-Lô: only minimal marks and small spots on the obverse. Very attractive antique patina.
