Childlike bust of the King facing right, laureate, draped and clad in ancient-style armour, wearing the Order of the Holy Spirit, with a long lock of hair falling over the breastplate. Rev. (variant) SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. BENEDICTVM. (date). Crowned shield, divided into the coats of arms of France and Navarre. Dy.1473 – G.203 – Dav.3800; Silver – 26.99 g – 38 mm – 6 h This is the second-highest grade! PCGS AU58 (56278509). With three dots after D. G···, a *V* beneath the bust and an inverted heart on the reverse. Fine proof striations on the obverse. Light circulation wear and a lovely collector’s patina with bluish highlights. Superb.
