Obv. LVD. XIIII. D. G (variant) – FR. ET. NAV. REX. Youthful head of the King facing right, wearing a laurel wreath, with long hair; below (date).
Rev. (at 9 o’clock) .CHRS. - .REGN. - .VINC. - .IMP (variant). Cross formed of eight L’s joined back-to-back, each arm crowned, with (mint mark) in the centre, flanked by four lilies radiating from the centre.
Dy.1425 – G.246 – Fr.421; Gold – 6.68 g – 23 mm – 6 h
Beginning of the legend at 9 o’clock on the reverse. A rare final year of issue for this type. Slightly scuffed between two ‘L’s on the reverse. Beautiful golden patina. Superb in mint condition.
