FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Louis XIV (1643–1715). Louis d’or with four Ls, 1694 reform, Y, Bourges. Obv. LVD. XIIII. D. G. (sun) - FR. ET. NAV. REX. The King’s aged head facing right, wearing a large laurel-wreathed wig; below (date). Rev. (variant) CHRS - REGN - VINC - IMP (variant). A cross formed of four crowned lilies, flanked by four Ls, with (mint mark) within a heart-shaped circle. Dy.1440A - G.252 - - Fr.433; Gold - 25 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen! PCGS AU55 (55952509). Well centred and with a welcome re-strike. Even wear with a golden patina. Very Good to Superb.
