Louis XIV (1643–1715). Shield with eight Ls, 2nd type, with a laureate bust, 1704, A, Paris.
Obv. LVD. XIIII. D. G. – FR. ET. NAV. REX. Bust of the King facing right, laureate, draped and clad in ancient-style armour.
Rev. SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. BENEDICTVM (variant) (date). A cross formed of eight L’s joined back-to-back, each arm crowned, with three lilies arranged 2 and 1 within a heart-shaped circle, flanked by four lilies radiating from the centre.

PCGS Genuine Cleaned-AU Detail (56278506).
With an inscribed edge in relief: DOMINE SALVVM FAC REGEM. Wide flan, and the strike is well centred, with a slight weakness on the King’s numeral on the obverse. Attractive collector’s patina. Superb.
