Louis XIV (1643–1715). Shield with eight ‘L’s, 2nd type, with a laureate bust, 1708, T, Nantes.
Obv. LVD. XIIII. Rev. G (sun) - FR. ET. NAV. REX (variant). Bust of the King facing right, laureate, draped and clad in ancient-style armour.
Rev. .SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. - BENEDICTVM (variant) (date). A cross formed of eight L-shapes joined back-to-back, each arm crowned, with three lilies arranged 2 and 1 within a heart-shaped circle, flanked by four lilies radiating from the centre; (mint mark) in the exergue.
