XIV. D: G. FR. ET. NAV. REG. CHR. Facing busts of Anne of Austria, veiled, and Louis XIV, his hair held back by a headband. Rev. Single-sided. Mazerolle 60 – Jones 208; Bronze – 96.4 g – 94 mm – 12 h With an antique, worked loop. Attractive brown patina. Superb. Obverse of the medal designed by Jean Warin in 1645 to commemorate the reconstruction of the church at Val-de-Grâce. The Regent Anne of Austria had vowed to build a church there if God granted her a son, which came to pass in 1638
