FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Louis XV (1715–1774). Gold Louis with insignia, 2nd type 1716, S, Reims. Obv. LVD. XV. D. G. FR. ET. NAV. REX. (date) (variant). Nude, childlike bust of the King facing right; below (variant). Rev. CHRS. REGN. - VINC. IMP. (variant). Oval, crowned Shield of France, superimposed on the Hand of Justice and the sceptre crossed in a saltire, (mint mark) in the exergue. Dy.1628A - G.334 - Fr.448; Gold - 8.09 g - 26 mm - 6 h NGC UNC DETAILS SPOT REMOVALS (8769664-007). Redeemed on a Louis with a barely discernible sun motif. A few black marks and micro-scratches on the obverse. With a wide flange and lovely freshness, featuring a light patina over the original lustre. Superb in Proof condition.
