FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Louis XV (1715–1774). Shield with a headband, 1759, 9, Rennes. Obverse: LUD. XV. D. G. FR. ET NAV. REX. Head of the King facing left, wearing a headband. Signature JCR on the nape of the neck; below (variant). Reverse: SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI. - BENEDICTUM (variant) (date). Oval, crowned Shield of France, between two olive branches; below (mint mark). Dy.1680 - G.322 - Dav.1331; Silver - 29.33 g - 41 mm - 6 h NGC AU DETAILS CLEANED (8772189-040). Well-centred strike. Slight wear on the high points of the relief. The patina is grey with iridescent highlights, particularly on the reverse. Superb / Superb to Proof condition.
