Head of the King facing left, wearing a laurel wreath, the base of the neck draped, with the signature R. FIL., below (variant). Rev. CHRS. REGN. VINC. IMPE (variant) (date). Slanted oval escutcheons of France and Navarre, beneath a crown, with the mint mark below. Dy.1646 - G.342 - Fr.467; Gold – 24 mm – 6 h Top Pop: this is the only graded specimen of this variety! From the Palombo 21 auction, 28 January 2023, lot 257. PCGS MS62 (29462464). Rare variety with the mint mark ‘A’ struck over an ‘X’! Fine finishing lines. Beautiful golden patina with greenish highlights.
