A very rare date which was missing from the “Louis XVI collection” sold at auction MDC 8 (and EAuction MDC 1), with only one specimen listed by G. Sobin! Minimal central finishing marks. A spot scraped away beneath the ‘R’ in ‘REX’. Delicate collector’s patina. Superb.
