Louis XVI (1774–1792). Half-écu with olive branches, 1783, H, La Rochelle.
Obv. LUD. XVI. D. G. FR. – ET NAV. REX. Bust of the King facing left, wearing an embroidered jacket, with the Order of the Holy Spirit, his hair tied at the nape of the neck with a ribbon. Signature B. DUVIV. F. on the edge of the bust; below (variant).
Rev. SIT. NOMEN. DOMINI – BENEDICTUM (variant) (date). Oval, crowned coat of arms of France, between two olive branches, (mint mark) below.

Only 724 examples were struck, according to Clairand. Minimal chip to the corner of the obverse with a small raised ridge of metal. With a dark patina showing golden highlights on the obverse and bluish tones on the reverse. Superb in mint condition.
