Louis XVI (1774–1792). Gold token, the King’s coronation at Reims, by L. Léonard, Special Strike (SP) 1775, Paris.
Obverse: LUDOVICUS XVI. – REX CHRISTIANISS. Bust of the King facing right, crowned, wearing an ermine cloak, with the collar of the Order of the Holy Spirit and a cravat; signed L. LEONARD.
Rev. DEO CONSECRATORI. The King in prayer, kneeling on the left before an altar, is anointed by the Virgin Mary emerging from the clouds on the right; in the exergue, in two lines: UNCTIO. REGIA. REMIS/ 11 JUNII 1775.
