Obverse: LOUIS XVI KING OF THE FRENCH. Head of the King facing left, hair tied with a ribbon at the nape of the neck. Below (variant) (date).
Reverse: REIGN OF LAW. The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by 30 and (variant) on the left, and SOLS and (mint mark) on the right. Cursive signature ‘DUPRÉ’ engraved on the base of the altar. In the exergue: ‘THE YEAR (date) OF FREEDOM’ in two lines.
