Obverse: LOUIS XVI KING OF THE FRENCH. Head of the King facing left, hair tied with a ribbon at the nape of the neck. Below (variant) (date).
Reverse: REIGN OF THE LAW. The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by 15 and (variant) on the left, and SOLS and (mint mark) on the right. In the exergue: THE YEAR (date) OF FREEDOM in two lines.
