FRANCE / FEUDAL - FRANCE / FEUDAL Aquitaine, Edward IV, the Black Prince (1362–1372). Modern restrike of the gold leopard of the Black Prince, Duke of Aquitaine [1350] (c.1972), Monnaie de Paris for NI (Numismatique Internationale). Obv. + ED': P'MO: GNS: REGIS: ANGLIE: PRCEPS: AQITANIE. Crowned leopard passing to the left. Rev. + XPC: VINCIT: XPC: REGNAT: XPC: IMPERAT. A leafed cross flanked by four leopards, within an angular quatrefoil. See also 1116; Gold – 22 mm – 3 h Top Pop (4): this is the finest graded specimen! PCGS SP69 (44002764). Specimen designated as a Special Strike (SP) by PCGS but graded MS on the website. A late 20th-century reissue by the Monnaie de Paris of the famous gold leopard of the Black Prince, Duke of Aquitaine, with a fineness of 920/1000 (horn hallmark 1 on the obverse). Proof condition.
