Constitution (1791–1792). 6-livre FRANÇOIS coin, 1792 – Year 4, 2nd half-year, A, Paris.
Obverse: LOUIS XVI KING – OF THE FRENCH. The King’s head facing left, his hair tied with a ribbon at the nape of the neck. Below (variant) (date).
Reverse: REIGN OF THE LAW. The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by the (variant) and a fasce on the left, and a cockerel and (mint mark) on the right. Signature ‘DUPRÉ’ engraved on the base of the altar. In the exergue: ‘THE YEAR (date) OF FREEDOM’ in two lines.
