FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Constitution (1791–1792). 6-livre FRANÇOIS coin, 1792 – Year 4, 1st half-year, A, Paris. Obverse: LOUIS XVI KING – OF THE FRENCH. Head of the King facing left, hair tied with a ribbon at the nape of the neck. Below: (variant) (date). Reverse: REIGN OF THE LAW. The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by the (variant) and a fasces on the left, and a cockerel and (mint mark) on the right. Signature ‘DUPRÉ’ engraved on the base of the altar. In the exergue: ‘THE YEAR (date) OF FREEDOM’ in two lines. G.55 - Dy.1718; Silver – 29.2 g – 39 mm – 6 h This is the second-highest grade (2) at PCGS! PCGS MS62 (58337209). Minor die marks on the obverse. Only a few, barely visible, adjustment marks. Well centred, with the reeded edges. Only minimal wear on the high reliefs. Attractive iridescent patina. Superb in Proof condition.
