FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Constitution (1791–1792). 30 sols FRANÇOIS 1791, 1st half-year – Year 3, A, Paris. Obverse: LOUIS XVI KING OF THE FRENCH. The King’s head facing left, his hair tied with a ribbon at the nape of his neck. Below (variant) (date). Reverse: REIGN OF LAW. The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by 30 and (variant) on the left, and SOLS and (mint mark) on the right. Cursive signature ‘DUPRÉ’ in intaglio on the base of the altar. In the exergue: ‘L’AN (date) DE LA LIBERTÉ’ in two lines. G.39 - Dy.1720; Silver – 10.19 g – 28.5 mm – 6 h PCGS Genuine Cleaned-AU Detail (58337211). Barely cleaned, with slight flattening on the high reliefs and a light patina beginning to form. Superb.
