FRANCE / CAPETIANS - FRANCE / ROYAL Constitution (1791–1792). Single-sided reverse proof of J.-P. Droz’s competition entry for the 6-livre coin, 1791 – Year 2, Paris. Obverse: Single-sided. Reverse: REIGN OF LAW (clover) (date) (diamond). The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a tablet of the law resting on an altar, flanked by a fasces surmounted by a pike with a cap of liberty on the left, and a cockerel on the right. In the exergue: DE LA LIBERTÉ / (date). G.47 - Maz.62 - VG.- (see 190); Pewter - 3.9 g - 39 mm - 12 h This is the second-highest grade (3)! PCGS AU58 (58337223). Beautifully styled, with minimal surface corrosion and a grey patina. Superb.
