Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇOISE / L’AN (date). Inscription: LES HOMMES SONT EGAUX DEVANT LA LOI and the intaglio signature ‘Dupré’, beneath a radiant eye, between a bunch of grapes and ears of wheat.
Reverse: LIBERTE EGALITE. The pan of a set of scales surmounted by a cap of liberty, on which is a crown with, in the centre: 2 S.; below, (mint) and (variant) (date) (variant).
G.31; Bronze – 26.74 g – 34 mm – 6 h
PCGS XF40 (58336882).
With a slight flaw in the blank and the blank cut at an angle. The strike is fair, slightly weak in the centre. Wear is even with a slight patina. Very Good to Superb.
