Obverse: LOUIS XVII KING – OF THE FRENCH. Bust of the young Louis XVII facing left; below: ESSAI. Reverse: REIGN OF LAW. The Genius engraving the word CONSTITUTION between a Phrygian cap and a triangle, with two stars below; signature DUPRE on the base of the altar; in the exergue: REPUBLIQUE / FRANÇAISE. G.17 - Maz.395 - VG.463; Bronze - 8.95 g - 27 mm - 6 h This is the second-highest grade! PCGS SP58 (58336901). Special Strike (SP). This remarkable trial coin features Louis XVII on the obverse and the Republic on the reverse. With a brown-ochre patina. Superb.
