Convention (1792–1795). Coin struck according to the FRENCH standard, re-struck in 1793 – Year II, AA, Metz.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇOISE / L’AN (date). Inscription: LES HOMMES SONT EGAUX DEVANT LA LOI and the signature Dupré, beneath a radiant eye and between a bunch of grapes and ears of corn.
Reverse: LIBERTE EGALITE / (date). The beam of a set of scales surmounted by a cap of liberty, on which is a crown with, in the centre: 1. S; below, (mint mark) and (different) (date) (variant).

This is the second-highest grade (5)!
PCGS MS64 (58336885).
No full stop after the ‘S’: a later re-strike with no ‘différent’ markings. The fields are barely tanned. Superb in Proof condition.
