Convention (1792–1795). Coin struck at the FRANÇOISE Mint, 1793 – Year II, BB, Strasbourg.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇOISE / L’AN (date). Obverse inscribed ‘MEN ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW’ and signed ‘Dupré’, beneath a radiant eye and between a bunch of grapes and ears of corn.
Reverse: ‘LIBERTY, EQUALITY’ / (date). The beam of a balance surmounted by a cap of liberty, upon which is a crown with at its centre: 1. S.; below (mint mark) and (varying) (date) (varying).
