Obverse: REPUBLIQUE – FRANCAISE. Bust of Minerva wearing a Corinthian helmet surmounted by a cockerel on the left; below, the signature LOR. F.
Reverse: Caduceus and cornucopia crossed diagonally; above, ‘2 DECIMES L’AN 8’; and below, (mint mark).

Special strike (SP). On a silver blank (72 per cent), with a fluted edge in intaglio. The strike is slightly off-centre with a slight weakness in the centre of the reverse. Slight grey patina. Superb.
