Obverse: REPUBLIQUE - FRANCAISE. Bust of Minerva wearing a Corinthian helmet surmounted by a cockerel, facing left.
Rev. Caduceus and cornucopia crossed, above 5 DECIMES L'AN 8, and below (mint mark).

Special Strike (SP). On a silver blank (79 per cent), with a fluted edge in intaglio. A slight lack of strike in the centre of the reverse. The patina is golden, with slight, even circulation wear. Minimal scratches and scuffs. Superb in Proof condition.
