Description
FRANCE - FRANCE First Empire / Napoleon I (1804–1814). Hybrid trial coin: 1 franc (Revolutionary Calendar) / 3 centimes Napoleon II, no date. Obverse: NAPOLEON – EMPEREUR. Bare head facing right, with the cursive signature ‘Tiolier’ below. Reverse: EMPIRE (branch) – FRANÇAIS. Within a wreath formed of two branches: 3 / CENTIMES / ESSAI. G.443 / G.114 – Théret/Taillard 1027–2802.COP; Pewter – 5.73 g – 23 mm – 6 h Made of pewter, with a smooth edge and the year removed from the reverse: undoubtedly a later fantasy casting, but a series of different denominations does exist! With a dark patina. Very good condition.
